Who is Mieke Donders?

Mieke Donders is a Belgian health innovator, strategist, and Metaverse Architect with a background in speech therapy and preventive health. After witnessing avoidable suffering while working in the stroke and intensive care unit of a hospital, she shifted her career toward prevention, determined to design health systems that are both effective and engaging.

She specializes in creating out-of-the-box, delight-driven experiences for health projects and events — from kick-offs to policy implementations — blending evidence-based strategies with creativity and fun. As a Metaverse Architect, she explores immersive and digital ways to bring health education to life, making it more interactive, playful, and impactful.

Her expertise lies in preventive health policy, community health projects, health education for children and young people, and building bridges between first-line care, care facilities, associations, and local municipalities.

She also develops practical health tools (such as surveys, workshops, apps, and nudging materials) and is engaged in strategic hospital projects focused on collaboration, patient experience, digital health, and volunteer policy.

She is also personally committed to creating a healthy, independent, and balanced life for herself and her children, while pursuing professional opportunities that combine health, innovation, and connection.
