Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about nudging, our downloads and orders.

What is nudging?

Nudging is a way to guide behaviour without banning or forcing anything. You shape the environment so the healthy choice becomes the easy one. Think of fruit at eye level, an inviting staircase or a water bottle on every desk. The idea was popularised by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein in their 2008 book Nudge.

How does nudging work at work?

At work, nudges help healthy habits grow naturally: more movement, healthier food, less stress and better focus. Small, visible cues in the workplace often work better than a one-off campaign or a long policy document, and they cost very little.

What are the Fun Reminder downloads?

Digital sets with playful actions and challenges for teams, such as Step Up! (movement), Eat Up! (nutrition), Chill Up! (less stress) and Set Up! (focus). There is also a form to build a workplace health strategy and a free guide on workplace wellbeing. You can download and use them right after purchase.

Who is Fun Reminder for?

For organisations, healthcare settings, schools and anyone who wants to make healthy behaviour easier. HR teams, prevention advisers, team leaders and managers use the downloads to make workplace wellbeing concrete. The mugs, posters and clothing make a fun gift or a daily reminder for your team.

Do employers in Belgium have to work on wellbeing at work?

Yes. The Belgian Wellbeing at Work Act of 1996 and the Codex on wellbeing at work require employers to run a prevention policy, including psychosocial risks such as stress and burnout. In the Netherlands the Working Conditions Act asks for a similar policy. Our free guide helps you turn these obligations into concrete actions. For legal advice, contact your prevention adviser or occupational health service.

How fast do I get my download?

Right after payment. You get a download link on screen and by email.

How are mugs, posters and clothing delivered?

Each piece is made to order and then shipped to you. At checkout you will see the expected delivery time for your country.

Can Fun Reminder run a workshop or programme?

Yes. Mieke Donders is happy to give a talk, workshop or tailored programme for your organisation, school or care team. Get in touch through the contact page.

Who is behind Fun Reminder?

Fun Reminder was founded by Mieke Donders, health strategist, longevity coach and nudging specialist. She worked as a speech therapist for fifteen years and then in policy and coordination roles in healthcare and education. Together with Prof. Dr. Koen Kas she co-founded Longevity be-MINE in Beringen, Belgium.

Who is Mieke Donders?

Mieke Donders is a Belgian health innovator, strategist, and Metaverse Architect with a background in speech therapy and preventive health. After witnessing avoidable suffering while working in the stroke and intensive care unit of a hospital, she shifted her career toward prevention, determined to design health systems that are both effective and engaging.

She specializes in creating out-of-the-box, delight-driven experiences for health projects and events — from kick-offs to policy implementations — blending evidence-based strategies with creativity and fun. As a Metaverse Architect, she explores immersive and digital ways to bring health education to life, making it more interactive, playful, and impactful.

Her expertise lies in preventive health policy, community health projects, health education for children and young people, and building bridges between first-line care, care facilities, associations, and local municipalities.

She also develops practical health tools (such as surveys, workshops, apps, and nudging materials) and is engaged in strategic hospital projects focused on collaboration, patient experience, digital health, and volunteer policy.

She is also personally committed to creating a healthy, independent, and balanced life for herself and her children, while pursuing professional opportunities that combine health, innovation, and connection.
